"OK.  Here's mine.
I am a scientific illustrator (fancy name for making graphs, mostly) working
for the USDA at an ag research lab, where the focus is on finding more
efficient ways of farming the hill-lands of Appalachia.  My husband Doug is
a scientist at the same facility, doing research on water quality.  We have
two teenagers, 17 and 15, who are very active sorts of people: soccer, band,
computers, ham radio, skiing. Those Swope researchers who have been
unfortunate enough to try to carry on conversations with me in October have
already discovered that I'm a crazy person then, because of band marching
season (it is an exceptional band) and soccer. We live in Raleigh County,
about an hour drive from the Swope homestead in Wolf Creek.  In my "free"
time  I work on my genealogy (Stewart, Swope, Bolinger, Diddle, Pugh,
Nottingham, Kerr, Yeager), do some bobbin lace and tatting, spin, draw
(rarely). Doug and the kids are fairly serious cavers in Monroe and
Greenbrier Co.
