In life, it is first your Mother
but swiftly extends to your Father.
As moments assemble
one upon the other,
your emotion finds a new outlet in
the puppy daddy brings home to you.
You learn to love in a very special way
when first a pretty girl smiles your way.
Or the real cute boy says, "Hi."
Love goes through many changes
as "puppy" love develops into
love for your big red topless car.
Soon your country calls and you
learn a new love - of your homeland.
Soon that fades as boot camp
boots it out of you.
But another love invades your life
and makes the biggest change of all.
You say, "I do." at the altar and
decide to not look for another love.
But you find it. It doesn't matter
where you are when you find it.
When God calls and says, "I love you.
See what my Son did for you."
You've found the love that will never change,
no matter what you do.
All the splinters take shape
unifying into one exquisite life
