Satan said five times, "I will"
A study in the nature of Lucifer
by Kenneth Francart
Lucifer said in his heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount
of the congregation — I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Isa 14:13
God said, How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst
weaken the nations! Isa 14:12
Before the foundation of the earth God knew the end before the beginning. He knew of the fall of Lucifer. He knew of the
fall of man. Lucifer was not there before God nor during the beginnings. Lucifer was a creation of God and now has the
audacity to think he could exalt his throne above the most High God.
God created a most beautiful angel, named him Lucifer and placed him in the position of being the son of the morning.
Lucifer also had a great number of angels that followed after him like puppy dogs bolstering the ego of Lucifer until his ego
took over and he left his intellect behind. Consider his last "I will" and you will see the arrogance override the intellect.
"I will be like the most High." Let's see, the most High created me, He is the Most High and I can be like Him.
Also I will be able to usurp His throne by setting my throne above His. Then the ultimate of arrogance comes when
he thinks he can ascend into heaven, the place where God abides, the place where God created for Himself. This lowly
angel will now ascend into this glorious home to claim it for himself. This is not intellect, it is pure and simple wanton
power-hungry greed coupled with supreme arrogance.
God responded, in Isaiah 14:15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. 16
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to
tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
The name "Lucifer" appears only once and that is in the Old Testament in Isaiah 14:12. In the New Testament
we read of the Devil and Satan and the Devil does not appear in the Old Testament, but Satan shows up 19 times in the
Old Testament and 14 of those times in Job.
Rev 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads
and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. 4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour
her child as soon as it was born. 5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a
rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. 6 And the woman fled into the
wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and
threescore days. 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and
the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the
whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Wonder of wonders, (verse 3) a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns (his tail drew a third part of the
stars (angels) verse 4) and went into war in Heaven (verse 7) against Michael and his angels and lost (verse 8) the war.
(Not just the battle, but the war.) And then we see (verse 9) that this dragon is cast out onto the earth with his angels
(the third part of the stars). We also learn that this dragon is called a serpent (Adam and Eve) and the Devil (who will
flee from you if you resist him) and Satan the only link between Lucifer and the Devil because he is in both Testaments.
Observe the dichotomy here of the magnificent and beautiful angel, opened up, as it were, to display to all the world the
true nature of Lucifer, twisted into a hideous seven-headed beast with horns and a tail.
Like Saul, on the Damascus Road having a vision from Jesus, being converted, and blinded, now called Paul, at his
elevation for Jesus, now Lucifer had a dramatic name change at his fall to the heinous and undesirable
name of "Satan." So with the fall from God's presence, came a new name and an old nature illuminated in bodily form.
Think about this: we all will have a new and glorious name given to us by our Lord God. Rev 2:17
Rev 20:8 [Satan] shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog,
to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on
the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from
God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of
fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
There will be so many joining the Devil in his battle that the number of them is as the sand of the sea (verse 8.) Can
you imagine (verse 9) that number of people encompassing Jerusalem and what sorrowful and yet magnificent
destruction comes down on their heads when God sends His fire down on those that surround the city and consumes
them? And (verse 10) the Devil, (Satan, Lucifer, the dragon, the beast, the tempter, and serpent) is cast into the lake
of fire and brimstone (Where their worm dieth not. Mark 9:44, 46, 48) forever and ever.
Immediately upon the judgment and sentencing of Satan comes the Great White Throne Judgment.
Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the
heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Then comes eternity with our Heavenly Father. Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem,
coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great
voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his
people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from
their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former
things are passed away.
Even so, come Lord Jesus
Amen

Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the
ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. 15 Yet thou
shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. 16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee,
and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;
Isa 14:24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as
I have purposed, so shall it stand: 25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains
tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. 26
This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.
27 For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and
who shall turn it back?
Mark 9:44, 46, 48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh
will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no
man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
