If works did count toward being saved
Then Grace would never be.
For works are that which could be waved
To show the best of 'me'!
Grace is a gift that's caused by love
It's perfect in every way.
Our works are things for which we strove
To improve that gift our way?
Our best is seen as filty things
Just what can they improve?
To perfect Grace our works we bring
Which mirrors to us the fool.
Grace is given - it can't be earned
It's' borne of God alone
Works are things which will be burned
They'll never get you home.
If works did count toward being saved
Jesus need not have died.
Look, my friend, to what you have waved
There's no place you can hide.
Receive God's Grace - Say "Thank you, Lord"
It's as simple as can be.
Anything else you can't afford
Try it, and you'll agree.
