To Speak Well of Him

In my well-marked Bible I have penned these four words, "Speak well of Him," right above the word "Blessed." To speak well of my wonderful Lord is just what I plan to do often. The longer I live, and the more I learn about Him, the easier this has become.
In my Bible reading last week I came across something VERY interesting. So interesting that it stood out. Three times I came across the phrase, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ…" In all three locations that phrase was found in Chapters One, verse three.

1.  Ephesians1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

2.  2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation,

3.  1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (All scripture taken from NKJV)

Think of what those three short verses say. God, through His Son Jesus Christ, has given us every thing we need to be victorious in this life. He has promised us comfort in the midst of our trials, He has given us an inheritance that cannot be destroyed, and He is keeping us safe. His power guarantees all these things.
If this was all the Bible had to say about what our God had done for us, that would be enough to praise Him every moment of our life. So I have no excuse not to speak well of Him.

A Heart Overflowing
Let us ponder God's love and His marvelous grace
which follows us all of our days.
Give glory to Christ with a heart overflowing,
a heart abounding with praise.
Dwell upon His mercy, His goodness and peace
the kindness He proffered that day
when our sins and transgressions He cast from His sight
and with joy, all our sins He erased.

Jesus is standing at the door to your heart all the time. He is knocking to come in and love you and guide you. He is offering you the gift of everlasting life, but you must hear Him and open the door to Him as He will not kick it in. (Rev. 3:20) A gift is just outside your heart's door at this time. Will you receive this gift? Will you open the door to Jesus and let him flood your soul with His love? If so, read the following paragraph as your prayer.

Father, I know that I have sinned and I turn from those ways and ask you to come into my heart and cleanse me. I know that I cannot do this on my own and I need your help. Fill my soul, Lord, and make me whole. I want your will for my life to be preeminent. Help me to grow in your way. I pray this in the precious name of Jesus.
    Amen
