Acquiring the Mind of God
Rev. Kenn Francart

God doesn't need you or me! God wants you and me. There isn't one clean thing that we can bring to improve His existence. We pray to Him with great renderings of what He is and what He has done. But get this part very straight in your mind; we are not exalting Him except in our own minds.
God was, is and forever more will be. We do not add one thing to Him. We cannot detract one thing from Him. We can detract from Him in the sight of others. He is God. Remember in (1) Genesis1:26, God said, "Let us make man in our image…" You see, God is complete without us.
God had angels in heaven and He walked and talked with them. For the most part they were good angels and God loved ALL of them. One particular angel God thought very highly of. That angel was Lucifer and God called him the son of the morning (2). God walked and talked with him as well.
At this point I have a human problem of dealing with this situation. God created the angels. God loved all the angels. God walked and talked with them and all the time one of His creations is plotting to overthrow Him. (2) Here three times he had the audacity to claim the things he would do to overcome God. The created will become higher than the one who created him. How stupid! I said that I have a human problem with this, as I would have just slapped him silly. That is not God's way. God's way is so far above our way as Heaven is from hell.
God said, "Let us make man…" and God carefully and exactly formed man from the ground. All the while he was creating man, He knew that many would reject Him, but He had a plan for the defeat of Lucifer and the restoration of Peace in Heaven.
God knew before the angels were created that one would lead a rebellion in Heaven. God knew before He made man that many would not follow His ways. God knew before the world was formed that a battle of good and evil would take place and He knew how it would turn out.
He knew evil would lose because hate begets hate and dissention begets dissention. But because He knew those that love Him would follow His admonitions out of love for Him, that Love would be the ruling force, He started and finished the whole creation thing.
So why bother with the whole mess? So why create a mess of beings that would only be cast into the lake of fire? Why, as a supreme being, even put yourself through the heartache? Could it simply be that God wanted to share heaven with beings that would appreciate and fellowship with Him for what He had done for our pleasure? "And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart." (3) Jer 24:7
"Give them an heart to know me," my goodness do you realize what he just said in that verse? He wants us to be totally aware of Him and He wants us to know Him deep in our being, so deep that we become a part of Him in our walk, our talk and our love. Then He wants to be a part of us in exactly the same way.
Gaining the mind of God is knowing Him to the utmost and Him knowing us to His utmost. I saw the same thing when He walked and talked with His angels and when He came to the Garden of Eden to walk and talk with Adam and Eve. His love of mankind is so great that I see the fall of Mankind as a heart breaking in Heaven, even though He knew man would fall.
Do you realize that God wants our hearts to break when we encounter a soul lost to sin and everything done to draw that soul away from sin fails? God said, "…they shall return unto me with their whole heart." Not even a tiny part reserved for ourselves but every tiny corner of our lives, our willingness, and our thinking is to be on and in God. He is the Lord and He is God. Better still, He is my God and He is your God.
God's Holy Spirit is in you, He walks along side of you and He immerses you with himself. (4) When we hide ourselves in Jesus, it is like putting your head upon His chest and the fragrance that comes over your being is that comfort in knowing God is and will always be. That He belongs to you and you belong to Him and always will.

     (1) Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
     (2) Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
     (3) Jer 24:7 And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.
     (4) Psalms 91:4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

All Scripture is from the King James Version (KJV).

Amen

Jesus is standing at the door to your heart all the time. He is knocking to come in and love you and guide you. He is offering you the gift of everlasting life, but you must hear Him and open the door to Him as He will not kick it in. (Rev. 3:20) A gift is just outside your heart's door at this time. Will you receive this gift? Will you open the door to Jesus and let him flood your soul with His love? If so, read the following paragraph as your prayer.

Father, I know that I have sinned and I turn from those ways and ask you to come into my heart and cleanse me. I know that I cannot do this on my own and I need your help. Fill my soul, Lord, and make me whole. I want your will for my life to be preeminent. Help me to grow in your way. I pray this in the precious name of Jesus.
    Amen
