Built in 1939 the Strand Theatre in Millington, Tennessee (slightly North of Memphis) was once a movie house but for quite some time now it has been the home of Billy Owen's All American Band and the Country Music Showcase every Saturday night. Guest singers as well as a variety of regulars make up the music for the night from 8:00pm until about 11:30pm. |

In recent years a small dance floor was added to the front of the theater in front of the stage. Those who do not dance can sit and watch the dancers and listen to the music. This picture was taken in May 1999. You may notice a few colors different from some of the other pictures... Billy is continuously making improvements to the theatre...

Joey Boone has often been a regular at the Strand but you will probably be seeing him more often now in Nashville as well as other places around the Mid-South! Professional, cool and great sounding all describes Joey and crew! If you ever get a change to hear him it's definately worth the effort! |

The Strand Theatre is good family intertainment, no alcohol and has a sort of home town atmosphere. The Strand is located at 7979 Wilkinsville road in Millington, Tennessee. Admission to the Country Music Showcase is $4, free admission for children under 9 years old. For more information call (901) 872-1420. Friday nights the Strand is host to Gospel music plus special shows are occasionally booked at the theatre. Auditions for Saturday night singers are typically held on Thursday nights from about 6:00pm or so until their done. To try out just drop by and place your name on the audition sheet and try out, if you sing well enough you will be place on the Saturday night show!
Often the band from the Strand will perform at special events around the Millington Area. Shown below is Billy Owens and the All American Band performing at the 1997 Munford Celebrates.
